But he's already had himself locked in prison.

And he doesn't remember it anyways. Not clearly. Or he says he doesn't, but he might be lying about that, because he's an idiot. There's no good reason for lying but there's no good reason for him to be locked up, either.

[He's half talking to himself, really, she's just-- someone to direct it at. Someone that will get it. Maybe. Or someone that he trusts anyways, and that's not even necessarily a conscious thought so much as something that just is.]

[There's a pause where she just takes a breath, the whole situation irritating and draining. She's already doing what she can, but it still doesn't lessen the feeling that she's just a soldier, and this isn't the sort of thing that can be solved by punching something in the face.]

That door could be wide open and he wouldn't walk out of it, Sirius. We want him out of there, we need to do it by his book.

[She's right, and he knows that, and that almost makes it worse--irritated by the whole useless situation, he snorts.]

Brilliant. Yeah. Because his book has been so helpful up until now. So that's it, then? I really have to leave the fucking locks on? What do we do in the meantime, how do we get him out of there?

[He drops a load of questions, but she takes the first two as rhetorical and only answers the last.]

The guy died. [That much couldn't be disputed, even if Taylor really didn't care about his death itself.] We need to find out how and who did it.
